Monday Chores

Had a little lie in after our busy weekend.  We did our usual Monday chores, washing, shopping, cleaning etc.  we had lunch here and went to the beach about 13.30.  As it was a Public holiday we did think the beaches would be busy but at CY O’Connor it was no busier than in the week.  I had a refreshing swim but as Richard’s ear is a little tender he didn’t go in as the water was a bit choppy.  Some Chinese ladies came and sat near us and they were obviously residents as they had their dog with them.  There was us in our swimming things and they were in trousers, long sleeved jackets hoods up as well as hats on and wearing masks, they are strange we thought, but each to his/her own.

We are looking forward to seeing Gavin tomorrow as it will be our final two weeks with him.  We have a long ‘to do’ list and will see how much we can fit in.

We went to bed last night and all was quiet until Richard heard a buzzing.  It was a fly and so funny as we spent at least 10 minutes trying to kill it and it kept hiding up high on the ceiling, but Richard got it in the end and peace resumed.

Caversham Wildlife Park

Richard suggested we visited Caversham again as the weather has been cooler and cloudy today and perfect weather to walk round a wildlife park.  It hasn’t changed much, sad there were no Quokkas to be seen this time, we forgot to ask why though.  The kangaroos seem to have a much larger enclosure and are laid back as ever. One reason to return was that Lisa had told me you can now not only see and stroke the koalas but hug one as well.  This is the only thing to cost extra to the entrance fee.  We got concession entry tickets as we are old!  I was so fortunate to get the last place to hold a koala at the 3pm session, everything else had gone.  A lady asked about it and we beat her by about two minutes, phew I was so excited, doing this for you too Lisa x. Woodman Point Beach

We went to pick up Gavin from his house ready to go to the beach and I went to his door but on the driveway I was called by a guy from the development.  He introduced himself as Howard and obviously thought I lived at Gavin’s because he asked if he could have a look inside at how the owners had renovated it.  He explained he has had his property for 11 years but has let it out and lived in his other house in Coral Bay.  As he and his wife are getting older, 75 they decided to move back to Fremantle as it is more convenient for shops, doctors etc and wanted to renovate and had heard how Gavin’s landlord had knocked a wall down in the kitchen. It was so funny as he was so friendly, Gavin said it is typical of Aboriginal people, then he called his friend, a guy from Yorkshire to have a look too.  Gavin was great and showed them around and then Richard came searching for us as we had been so long, he had parked out on the road.  We eventually set off for the beach. ...
