International Women’s Day

On such an auspicious day, we saw quite a few birds today, please excuse the pun!  Seriously I know so many fabulous women it is good to celebrate.  Someone in the cafe at lunch time was asking her friend if there is an International Men’s Day, they thought not.

Unfortunately Gavin is feeling unwell today, thinks a cold, not Covid, so we haven’t seen him.  We decided to have another beach day but rain was forecast for the afternoon.  It became overcast but warm and we didn’t swim as there quite a few small jellyfish around, urgh.  I got talking to a lady next to me on the beach about the jellyfish and then on to other things and turns out she is a nurse as well and worked as a Manager at the Mass Vaccination Centre in Twickenham.  We had a very interesting chat and she is Australian but lives in the U.K.

We were at South Beach and after a few drops of rain decided to go back to the car.  A guy was sitting on a seat under the trees and pointed out two birds feeding on top of a car, we think the owner put the food there as apparently the birds are often there.  Typical Freo, always something a little different as there was also a teenager riding his bike with a bird on his shoulder, think his Grandfather may have been the owner of the van.

We went for our now usual coffee and mango milkshake at The South Beach Cafe before heading back to the house and this lovely little wagtail was loitering waiting for scraps of food, it was so cute.

On the way out of the South Beach car park we had to wait for the train, about three or four minutes for it to go past, first time this trip.  Relaxing evening ready for a busy day tomorrow.
