Family time in Mandurah

We took the train to Mandurah this morning, another early start for us as we wanted to spend as much time with Lynley and Frank as we could.  We were delighted to see Frank at the station with Lynley, it was a lovely surprise.

We went to a bakery in Pinjarra and got take away snacks and drinks and found a beautiful spot down by the river to spend some time together.  There was a suspension bridge in the park area across the river and we decided to walk across it.  I got a few steps in when Richard reminded me of when I had vertigo in Thailand on a suspension bridge.  I didn’t feel too bad until then and was going to continue until some children the other end thought it would be fun, and who can blame them, to make the bridge swing.  That was me done and I went back and waited for Lynley and Richard to return, Frank was in the car as he has become very frail.

Afterwards we went back to their house where Lynley served a delicious lunch.  After lunch she took us for a walk around the bush at the end of their road as she remembered taking Lisa and the boys kangaroo spotting when they were over here.  They were fortunate and saw quite a few Roos then but today we saw no live ones although Richard spotted a huge dead roo buck in the bush, so sad.  Lynley is trying to contact someone so he can be removed but as it is Sunday and a public holiday on Monday it will have to wait until Tuesday.

Lynley dropped us off at the station and we had a good journey home, both trains from Mandurah and Perth were the most crowded we have seen the trains.

Now for a relaxing evening after a busy but most enjoyable weekend.
