Cooler Friday

I just realised I forgot to post yesterdays blog as had done a draft earlier in case I added to it, then forgot as was tired after our busy day.  It is a lot more comfortable today and cooler this evening, actually put a cardigan on over my dress when we were sitting outside, but it was 9pm.

We walked into Fremantle this morning to buy fruit and salad stuff as Camila came to dinner this evening. We also got some super glue to mend Richard’s trainer which I am pleased to say is now fixed.  We then went to the beach for a few hours and had it almost to ourselves.

I was organised for dinner so we could chat with Camila when she arrived.  I put the oven on to heat up prior to cooking a spinach and feta quiche, one of our new favourites from Woolworths.  The oven went off after about ten seconds and we couldn’t get it to stay on and the instructions were no help.  Of course Camila was on time and we were still trying to get the oven to work.  She tried to help but none of us could get it to stay on.  In the end I telephoned Alison the manager of the house and she suggested a trip switch could have gone or we could try using timed cooking. The trip was fine and I am pleased to say the timed cooking worked, goodness knows why you have to do it that way as we didn’t have to do that last time we used it.  We joked to Camila we might be going to the fish and chip shop if we couldn’t get it working.

We ate dinner outside and it was a very pleasant evening.
