South Beach

Today we decided to go to the beach and drove there from memory.  We meant to go to CY O’Connor beach but ended up at South Beach as we took a wrong turn but it was fine and fairly busy but not crowded.  The waves were much more gentle than at Esperance.

We put up our brand new beach tent and all was fine until the breeze got up and it started to blow away.  We weighed it down with our stuff and all was well while we ate our lunch in it to get out of the sun but I had just got comfy in it and the tent pegs came out yet again and we worried the tent would get damaged.  We took it down and looked around and everyone else had taken down their shelters and umbrellas because of the wind.  We will try and find the correct beach tomorrow and see if we have more success with the tent as we have now bought some more robust tent pegs.  Oh what a busy life we lead!

When we returned to the house we chilled and I was just going to shower as covered in salt from swimming when Lisa video called and it was lovely to see and chat with her.  Freo seems to be a little prima donna but Lisa says all is well with her so that’s good.  Lexi was in her bed and Freo was in her own when Lisa showed us and she lifted her head then curled up and went back to sleep, bless.

We are beginning to feel the benefit of just chilling, although I did say the owner could have cleared the huge pile of leaves in the courtyard and trimmed some of the vines and of course Richard was pleased to have some gardening to do and all was cleared and vines trimmed in no time! I don’t know if I mentioned it before, I might have that we have grapes growing in the courtyard, so won’t have to buy any more while we are here result!
