Perth City

As the forecast was windy and cooler weather, we decided to take the train to Perth today.  I researched about paying for parking and we were all set.  Got to the car park and found a convenient parking spot and went to pay for parking and found out you can only pay via Transperth Smart Rider/Parker card.  We were so fortunate that there was a guy parked by the ticket machines who asked if we needed help.  I explained our dilemma and he kindly paid for us and would not take the cash for payment.  People are so kind.

We wandered around Perth and found that the shops have not changed much but then we walked to Elizabeth Quay and saw all the high rise buildings that have been completed since we were here last and new ones still being built.  It is still a nice place to walk around.

We were walking around London Court a shopping area supposed to look like old London, when a girl gave us a bag from London Court Books free.  It had a Jackie Collins book from 2005 in and some lottery tickets.  We will leave the book here, not my kind of book but I won a whole $5au but will probably not claim as lots to fill in on the back and not worth it, but was a nice thing to do.  We decided as we had a day rider ticket we would use it to take the ferry to South Perth, only takes about eight minutes on the ferry but it was good to see a part of the city we have not visited before.  Perth Zoo is there but as we have a zoo in Colchester we didn’t bother to visit.

On the way back to the station we were interviewed by two guys from  Perth Now Media about our opinions of the city.  They have a page on Facebook so we might see ourselves some time soon, or not if we end up being deleted!  We got the train back to Fremantle and I was quite tired so put my feet up for a while.

Richard has discovered he cannot send or receive emails so I suggested he deleted and reinstall the account.  Big mistake as it is a gmail and recovery is so complicated and we cannot just get the account back.  Hopefully one of Gavin’s friends will be able to help us out. It  doesn’t help that Richard does not have his phone with him for verification!  I have deleted and recovered my Yahoo account before with no problem at all 😤.  Enough time and energy wasted, now BBQ time, lamb chops tonight.

Lots of these meerkat figures dotted around the quayside at South Perth,  not sure why though
