Monday Again
Yesterday, we didn’t do a lot, we went to the beach in the morning. We tried out the sun umbrella we left from previous visit as we didn’t plan to stay long, disaster! It was quite windy and within five minutes it had blown inside out. Rather than battle getting it back together, Richard folded it up and sorted when we got back, so funny.
After showers we walked into Freo again as I had a problem with one of my new earrings, the back was loose and the back and earrings landed on the floor, luckily I was in the house and we found them easily. They were so nice in the shop and adjusted them and the designer even gave me different hand made backs which are easier to use, such good customer service. We then sat outside a restaurant and I had a delicious mixed berry smoothie and Richard had a beer, then strolled back.
We video called the boys and it was lovely to see and chat with them, then I had a long chat with Lisa via the Portal while she was doing the ironing. So good on the Portal as the camera follows her around when she moves. We have now been here three weeks, it has flown by.
Monday - I stripped the bed in the front bedroom and washed the sheets in the evening ready to put out this morning. We decided to try the other bedroom but I didn’t like it as much so we have made up the bed in the front again ready for tonight. Still makes me angry there are no spare sets of bed linen or towels but as it is only us two, it’s not a problem.
We then went to do some food shopping. Rather than come back from the beach to housework we decided to do it before. It didn’t take long and we were soon getting ready for the beach. I used a sponge mop to mop the tiles and it was not very good as left lots of sponge on the floor. I messaged the owner and asked for a replacement sponge and she messaged back to say there was a microfibre mop in the ‘utility room’. I explained that didn’t know how to use it and requested sponge head again or instructions how to use the microfibre mop. Apparently you dampen it or take the mop head off and soak then wring out by hand, most odd! I listened to a whole diatribe about they are very good and better for the environment 🤔. Good job it is a small area otherwise you would have to keep taking the head off the mop as you cannot use anything to wring out excess water. We are on holiday and I am not going to mess about doing this. The woman wants you to leave the house clean, even though there is a charge for cleaning after we leave but does not give proper equipment to do so, most of the stuff is dusty or covered in dirt or cobwebs so we have to clean before using to clean! She will definitely not get a good review from us that's for sure. Her customer service is no existent. There, moan over.
After housework we went to the beach and what a treat to swim in the ocean after a busy morning, lovely. It was hot today, about 30 degrees but there was a lovely breeze on the beach. We are being careful not to get sunburnt. Gavin rang again, nice to chat and be in the same time zone, he can’t wait to finish his swing and return next Monday. We have been invited out to lunch with Clarene and Ian, more distant relations, on Thursday in Mandurah and we hope Lynley will be able to come too. Frank is in respite care with option for it to be permanent so he probably won’t be coming.
Now to drink my gin and tonic and sit back and relax, cheers.
