Memories of Mum
Today is the second anniversary of my mum’s death. So much has happened since then that sometimes it seems a lifetime ago. I often think, I must tell mum that and then remember she is not here any more. A poignant moment tonight was while we were sitting in the courtyard garden The Lark Ascending was played on the radio and this was one of the pieces of music played at her funeral, we both felt she was looking down on us. Love you mum💞
Cy O’Connor beach was our choice of venue for today. I am pleased to report that the beach tent also stayed put thanks to our new tent pegs! It was really hot again today but a nice breeze on the beach which was welcome. I managed to finish my first audiobook whilst sunbathing. We are not going mad as don’t want to get sunburnt. The beach shelter came in very handy to get out of the sun.
Lisa had to take Freo to the vet yesterday and poor dog has a yeast ear infection yet again. She has more medication to clean her ear, antibiotics to calm infection and tablets to help prevent irritation. Grateful to Lisa for caring for her so well and I know what a pain it is to keep cleaning Freo’s ears.
Tonight Richard was cooking steaks on the BBQ in the courtyard and then I could not see him but the back gate was open and I could hear talking. He was chatting to the couple next door Liz and Dougie and it turns out that her sister lives in Welshwood Park! We all had a lovely chat and we have been invited to join them and other neighbours for wine at the park at the end of our road tomorrow evening. Liz is going to call for us on the way over, it’s all of 50 metres to walk!
