Visit to Alison and David
Camila drove us to see Alison and David her older friends, our age, who live in Lower Chittering, about an hour north of Perth. Camila house sat for them before she met Gavin and they are good to them both and so welcoming to us. They emigrated from the UK about 17 years ago and have a property on a five acre block. They have an elderly cat and dog and three sheep. David is a brilliant engineer and he showed Richard his workshop and he was amazed at all the things he has in there, a motorcycle he is re building, pool table, lathe and tools to make tools to name a few.
We sat outside for coffee before lunch and it wasn’t too hot. We had lunch indoors as it was cooler with the air con and after lunch we walked around the property and the heat really hit us. Their dog Sally was given a bath this morning and she joined us on our stroll and rolled in dust and dirt and looked very pleased with herself! We had a really lovely day. And got back to the house about 6pm.
Sad that Gavin flies back to Newman tomorrow morning, but it is only for a week then he will be with us for our final two weeks in Australia which we are looking forward to. We have a lot planned and hope we can fit it all in. Camila is coming over for dinner on Friday and we may meet up with her in Perth for lunch one day this week as she is based there for the foreseeable future.
Aah dear old Sally x
