First Full Day

After being awake at 02.00 for a couple of hours, the alarm was set for 07.45 and I was tempted to go back to sleep, but breakfast called!

After breakfast we re-aquatinted ourselves with Fremantle and I now have an Aussie SIM for my phone and some new sandals as my flip flops/thongs make my feet sore, thank goodness for my old faithful Crocs.  Wandered to Bathers Beach House for coffee/beer and people watch.  

Gavin picked us up about 15.00 and we went to the beach and met a couple of his friends.  Had a refreshing swim in the sea and sat and chatted on the beach.  Went to our favourite butchers - Frank's and greengrocers - Gelati's and Gavin took us to his house and we had a delicious BBQ.  Got an Uber back to the B & B.

Battled with the computer to get my photos on Richard's laptop so hopefully they will be displayed more clearly.  Now for a shower and sleep.

Caversham Wildlife Park

Richard suggested we visited Caversham again as the weather has been cooler and cloudy today and perfect weather to walk round a wildlife park.  It hasn’t changed much, sad there were no Quokkas to be seen this time, we forgot to ask why though.  The kangaroos seem to have a much larger enclosure and are laid back as ever. One reason to return was that Lisa had told me you can now not only see and stroke the koalas but hug one as well.  This is the only thing to cost extra to the entrance fee.  We got concession entry tickets as we are old!  I was so fortunate to get the last place to hold a koala at the 3pm session, everything else had gone.  A lady asked about it and we beat her by about two minutes, phew I was so excited, doing this for you too Lisa x. Woodman Point Beach

We went to pick up Gavin from his house ready to go to the beach and I went to his door but on the driveway I was called by a guy from the development.  He introduced himself as Howard and obviously thought I lived at Gavin’s because he asked if he could have a look inside at how the owners had renovated it.  He explained he has had his property for 11 years but has let it out and lived in his other house in Coral Bay.  As he and his wife are getting older, 75 they decided to move back to Fremantle as it is more convenient for shops, doctors etc and wanted to renovate and had heard how Gavin’s landlord had knocked a wall down in the kitchen. It was so funny as he was so friendly, Gavin said it is typical of Aboriginal people, then he called his friend, a guy from Yorkshire to have a look too.  Gavin was great and showed them around and then Richard came searching for us as we had been so long, he had parked out on the road.  We eventually set off for the beach. ...
