Esperance Day Three

This morning we woke to cooler weather and it is quite cloudy but still shorts and t shirts are fine.  We decided to do some walking today and went to Lake Monjingup Reserve which was a short drive  from the camp site.  It was such a lovely place to walk around and the only noises were the birds.  We spent a pleasant hour or so walking about and taking in all the beautiful plants, lake and the occasional birds that we could spot, oh yes and one duck!  Richard took his binoculars so we would see more with them.

We had our picnic lunch and Gavin tried to fly his drone again but it was too windy.  Most odd, close by is a pet cemetery, had a quick look and some of the inscriptions on the little plaques were quite sweet.

Gavin wanted to swim again so we went back to Twilight Beach, this time no warning sirens.  There looked like a small school party of children with two teachers and they had so much fun body boarding the waves.  Gavin and I swam again and we just body surfed the waves.  It was not as windy as yesterday and no sand was blowing and the water didn’t seem as cold, it could have been because it was not as hot out of the water.  Gavin even went in a second time and it was good to watch him in the waves.

Again we are all tired after a busy day.  Yesterday we bought a cheap pop up beach shelter but the instructions and videos we watched about putting it down again didn’t help us at all.  Gavin and Richard did it yesterday but can’t remember how!  Today it went in the bin as we damaged it trying to fold it! Richard and Gavin are going to BBQ again tonight, this time steak.  The hammerhead shark fillets we had yesterday were delicious and we were all pleasantly surprised, so didn’t have to resort to the stand by sausages, haha.

Photos not quite in order and not sure how to do it on my iPad.

Huge ant nest

Can you spot the bird?

I was so pleased with this photo of  a New Holland Honeyeater which flew back to it’s nest while we were watching it.
