Day Four in Fremantle
Today we went on the train to Mandurah to see relatives Lynley and Frank as Frank has just come out of hospital and we wanted to see him before we go on our road trip tomorrow. The guy at Fremantle Station was very helpful with getting our tickets from the machine, he chose concession rate even though we were not entitled and said if we were challenged to say he chose the tickets. Day rider tickets for train and busses up until midnight was au$8.40 for the two of us, equivalent of about £5. The Aussies have got their public transport right.
Lynley picked us up from the station and we went back to their house for coffee and then treated us to lunch at the local shopping centre, another tasty meal. Lynley then took us to the beach where we spent a lovely Aussie Day Out with them when Lisa and the boys were over. Frank kept remarking on the fond memories of the boys that day and how much he enjoyed their company. We will see them again when we get back and next time will hopefully be a longer visit.
Gavin was busy today, collected Camila's newly serviced car and he had to clean his house and get ready for the week away so we have not seen him. We have re packed our cases and have one bag between us for the week (I bought a fold up one for the road trip), so that in the morning we will be prepared to leave after breakfast.
Today’s bit of excitement is that they have closed off the street where we are as they are making a film and filming tonight. Unfortunately we cannot be extras, haha. We spoke to one of the guys and it is going to be a film for the big screen and a love story but he didn’t divulge the name of the film, only the basic plot.
We went to the Bar Orient for a snack and drink this evening and Richard surprised me by saying he wanted to stay and watch the karaoke as he has never seen it before. It was fun but we just watched.
Weather looks awful .... lol thought diva had pulled haha 😄
